Ottawa

Did you know that the average Canadian consumes over 300 litres of water per day? That’s just the water you can actually see, e.g., bathing, drinking, cleaning dishes, not water used in other processes.
Water is not something Ottawa citizens can take advantage of, despite the City’s natural endowment of beautiful rivers. The City has already taken important steps to address water consumption, but as with many sustainability challenges, this is very much a work in progress and there is room for improvement and room to use Ottawa’s learning to share with other municipalities across Canada.
In the spirit of cooperation and collaboration, I invite all interested citizens and people with an interest in join this group, and also become involved with the Sierra Club of Canada’s Ottawa Group (meetings on the first Monday of each month at Sierra Club Canada’s National Office at #1 Nicholas Street, Suite 412.

I also invite anyone with a passion for conversation and advocacy, and a technical background in sciences or engineering, to help lead the Ottawa Group in this initiative.
